EMERGENCY POSTING 3
I've just been into the Pink Palace and prerecorded tomorrow's Nightshift. Most of the items in it are lifted from Easter Day's programme, including chapters 9 to 12 of Secrets. Judging from the last few nights, I don't hold out much hope for tonight, either, though. If the system fails us yet again, I'll try to make other arrangements for you to hear Secrets.

Sue Sweeney was in the Palace this morning, too, and was going frantic with worry in case she was responsible for the disappearance of The Nightshift over the last two nights. She's actually lost sleep over it! I've reassured her that there's nothing she could have done about the computer fault.

Some of you obviously know more about the arcane workings of the BBC's computer system than I do - not that that's saying much, to be honest. It seems you're right; the automatic 'play' button - the one marked GO - may as well have said STOP and yet more hours of juicy truckshunting didn't get off the ground (to mix metaphors just a little).

Sid.....In view of The Nightshift's Easter catastrophe, I will draft tomorrow's posting and delay yours until Wednesday. I hope you don't mind.

It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that I'm sorry about what's happened over the last few nights. Very sorry indeed.

i think perhaps you refer to LOZ the keeper of our mascot.

it is true i do know about most technology but in this case everything and i mean everything i have said relating to this unforsen iregularity(is that a good word?)

is at best pure guess work/conjecture and whats more if you can bottle that your a better man than me gungerdin.

like i said your gaffer did not want to know about a technical tour

but i can rest easyish cause i had a tour around boulmer when "border radar" was established at that location, however since then "border radar" has now moved and is now called "penine radar"


so the chances of a "look" around the RADAR opperations site now are perhaps a non starter.

but we were told that we would be held to something akin to the official secrets act

and also having been involved at "lockerbie" and again being told by the "opperations leader" and by the way that could have been just about anyone within "RAYNET".

but never the less we were all told to ignore everything as it was all "sub-judicey" .

and so as far as i am aware everyone has kept clear of the subject .

i certainly have not known of any infringments.
so think perhaps the security at the "pink palace" is not at stake.

Hi all,

Got my toes and fingers all crossed tonight for a successful trigger. I am in Sid's corner here and have a good feeling tonight. I think it will work.

Can all the truckshunters wish good vibes and happy thoughts to Grosvenor tonight please?

He's a little down tonight as you'll recall in my main blog posting I mentioned Guy.... a sweet boy rat who as he'd been castrated lived happilly with 7 girl rats.

Guy came to me as a re-homing deal from Portsmouth when Ben, his and his brother Lemmy owner needed a career change that would not let him be able to care for the boys, so a rat train was set up and (to give them their full names) Lemmywinks and Guybrush arrived with me in June for their new lives.

Lemmy died the day after I had Guy in the studio with Paddy and Pudsey to raise money for Children in Need in November of a Petuitory Brain Tumour, a sadly very common thing in pet rats.

Very sadly we lost Guy, the star of pudsey and Paddy, yesterday as a result of a nasty ear infection which developed into epilepsy and sayly Guys death.

Grosvenor and all the others have, as animals do, sensed the loss and are in their own form of morning.

We've shed our tears too as dog owners mourn the loss of their beloved pets, and as dedicated rat lover such a loss is equally deep seated and saddening.

We burried Guy today next to his brother alongside Brandy, Sherry, and Bailey.

So.... R.I.P. Guy.... and lets all cheer grosvenor up.... it may sound daft the way I talk about our rats at times but they are so perceptive they really are a cut above.

AND..... lets hope we hear Ian kickstart in at 1am...... here's hoping.

Paddy has just said, with great confidence, "Ian is here at 1 o'clock with the Nightshift".
Let's hope he's right.

Sorry to read about Guy, such a shame.
Ian was in top form this morning, but that slight pause had me going.

Kev .... that was a nice surprise, thank you so much, it's going to help a lot. Do you have the rest of the answers to the quiz, by any chance?

Enjoyed the feature on Ian's show last night about the Witness Protection Scheme - for some unknown reason I am very interested in True Crime, and Mysterious Disappearances, and all things Forensic! I also enjoyed the mention of that competition for books with the funniest titles - that was well funny!

Hildie, I to enjoyed the witness protection feature. Those people deserve a medal the size of a frying pan (but of course they wouldn't be able to wear it). No matter how good the scheme may be, somebody..somewhere..knows who you really are. And that's got to be scarey.

I liked the book title..I was tortured by the Pygmy love Queen..Its still available from good bookshops...I've checked.

Hildie, you tinker you...The number of times I have looked at my allotment and wondered if I could get a small tractor in to 'turn it over'. Its always been a humerous thought, because it would spoil the fun of trying to stand up straight when it was all done.
