Thanks for all your comments about yesterday's blog, both within the blog and via email/text. I'm sorry to have 'laid all that on you', as they say but your advice and experience helped me a lot.

I'm sorry to tell you that Nic died this morning.

Oh Ian,

So very, very sorry to hear that news about Nic.

The English language at time like this seems so inadaquate, yet it's a body blow to me too to hear the news due to the bonds that build up and develope over the airways to the extent that you have formed a loyal friendship with someone.

A good few years ago, in 1989, my closest mate died at 37 from cancer, so the obvious devestation to yourself is a ghastly realism I too know only too well.

Be content in the knowledge that Nic is now out of his anguish, his frustration and pain at not being able to continue life in the so-called normal fashion to which he was used to.

I'll stop rabbiting on now... you, and indeed Nic's family and other friends are well and truely in my thoughts as I'm sure you all are within the hearts of all Truckshunters.

R.I.P. Nic.... you sounded like one great guy

Lawrence.

Hi Gilly,

Glad to have been of service all those months ago with the Durham question, and indeed it was me who dug up the stuff.

Pleasure to be of service.

A this rate I can see a good argument for arranging some Truckshunters social nights.....

There's food for thought now.

Cheers Gilly....

Lawrence

Hi again Gilly,

Yeah this Truckshunters is developing a strong sence of belonging and comdradeship.... already - which is great. Can't wait to follow it's progression.

Re- Guy, he's the rat incidentally...Rattys are very much an acquired taste, but once you meet domesticated rats you soon realise they are a million miles away from a wild one.

I never take offence at those who are not rat-fans, it's an accepted part of being a keeper of rats.... not a problem, and for some reason it does seem to be the tail, although not sure why - it's smooth, not snake-like and is their balance system.

I do have 8 rats (and a part share with a friend in a further 15!!!), although 2 actually died the day after the show. Baily had lymphatic cancer and Lemmy had developed a brain tumour, and they both left us last Friday.

Lemmy was Guy's brother, so he was a bit unhappy for a while this week.

They are very loyal animals and are very affectionate and clean. Unlike wild rats the domestic ones are spotlessly clean and disease free and can be snuggled safely by adults and kids alike, and a well handled rat from when they are kittens (the name for baby rats believe it or not lol) never bites unless seriously threatened, so are safe to handle too.

They lick you like dogs do, sit on your shoulder for hours and are just great animals.

There was one webcam screen shot from Paddy's show - after all the on-air stuff, but before I left where I'm standing by the on-air red light with Guy on my shoulder, but it's not easy to make out. During the broadcast I was sitting to the immediate left of the lass with the Spider from the Hancock -behind a monitor in line with the webcam's position.

It's perfectly ok to have a fear of rats but they really are sweet things - even their tails.

ta for explaining all that lawrence, very interesting about the rats i think they should re name them though, maybe a prettier name. the word "rats" i think fills folk with trepidation, goes back eons to the past, i could see the lass from the hancock but thats all, n paddy of course woudlnt be a show without him,...the "padster" as julia used to say...sad that you lost some, when my dog died i was nearly having to have therapy, we had to get another straight away, got 2 tara the sprocker n meg the collie,.. megs so intelligent it beggars belief, she s been here before as they say..pets are truly good therapy.....cheers

ian last week i said i,d be out for a while having a break sorta thing till my energy levels picked up so i sent every one at truckshunters my love and best wishes, saying what a decent set of folk, as you can see normal service is now resumed lifes too short to do owt else.i,m studying atrology, stars arent good , mars is in retrograde the brakes are on the planet of action till jan 19th, mercury has been in retrograde but has now resumed forward motion so folk will have less mix ups and breakdowns in communication but it,ll still be difficult, venus planet of love squares upto mars causing conflict so, anyone wanting me ,,i,ll be hidden ,,pref, in the wardrobe........
