I'm so so sorry to hear about another soldier and especially one from Dipton. I just cannot imagine what his family is going through. I do feel for them - it must be hell.Ellienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-79947733276132525362010-05-08T15:20:35.236+01:002010-05-08T15:20:35.236+01:00Yo Ian,

Congratulations on your new job Ellie. ...Hi Folks,

Congratulations on your new job Ellie. I hope you enjoy your work and meet some lovely people.

I hadn't heard about the soldier from Dipton, Hildie. I'm very sorry to learn about his untimely death. I can't imagine how his family and friends must be feeling. At least they will have lots of support from the wonderful folk in Wooten Bassett.

Ian, thanks for posting your holiday tales at long last. I haven't had a chance to read your complete posting as yet, but I'm looking forward to an enjoyable and fascinating read.

Now about The Stadium of Light........ well I was invited to an event hosted by Barclays Bank. It was to update investors as to the current status of our portfolios. In their presentation it all sounded very 'healthy' and 'sound', so I'm wondering why my my pension lump sum is still considerably lower than it was when I invested it in October 2007! Still, it was very interesting and the food was good! Also, I never ever thought I'd visit a football stadium during my lifetime! Barclays have promised to use St. James's Park next time!!!Viviennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12833185895438448279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-41417597808362418912010-05-06T22:18:24.091+01:002010-05-06T22:18:24.091+01:00Umm, a garden centre! And what are you going to do there?!
Yes, he is clever with words, there is no denying that .....
if only he would share his gift with us a little more often ...
he makes us wait, mind, doesn't he?!!
However, we have to forgive him at the moment ... he is practising his French first hand just now.
He'll be back in a bit though!
I tell you who I'm wondering about as well .... I'm wondering what Vivienne was doing at the Stadium of Light .... if you remember, she said she was going there on the day of the AGM.
Have you heard, in the news, about the death of a young soldier, named Daryn Roy, from Dipton? It makes it very real when it happens to someone you know
... everyone here is so very sad. It's tomorrow when his family is being taken to Wooten Bassett to bring him home.Hildiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08859247954480595473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-84899113540590830002010-05-06T20:38:09.514+01:002010-05-06T20:38:09.514+01:00Hello, Hildie
Got myself into working in a garden ...Hello, Hildie
Got myself into working in a garden centre ~ something of a new venture at my tender age...watch this space....
Now, about the talent owned by our Ian ~ well I count myself lucky to have tripped over such a monumental, extraordinary, exquisite, fabulously stunning talent that he has with words which is my privilege to read. (and others, of course!)
Don't think I can say more than that and yes, speaker talented too. The man is a genius ~ not that I'm a fan of his or owt!!!Ellienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-55331341079847228772010-05-05T23:15:02.193+01:002010-05-05T23:15:02.193+01:00Hello, hello .... You will, of course, have realised that, despite what Ian has said, he didn't, in the least, bore us to tears with his tales of railways and foreign food and mountains and rivers and fields and strange and beautiful towns and cities with awesome monuments .... you will know fine well that, the truth is, he had us absolutely spellbound! And left us thirsty for more .....
I think it's the way he tells it, do you?!!Hildiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08859247954480595473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-27902656253107338702010-05-05T19:49:19.984+01:002010-05-05T19:49:19.984+01:00That was saturating!! - I loved every word and so ...That was saturating!! - I loved every word and so glad I have had my much needed dose of Ian!
Sorry I missed the AGM but MY feeble excuse is that I was being interviewed for a job on Friday at 10am ~ I got it and started yesterday!Ellienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7686549576418787314.post-18347180878627542912010-05-05T14:12:43.851+01:002010-05-05T14:12:43.851+01:00I enjoyed that Ian.
